Family of man killed at auction firm launch suit

The family of a Gravelbourg area man killed last fall when he was pinned beneath a piece of farm machinery at a Regina auction business has launched legal action.
Gerald Monvoisin, a 58-year-old farmer and businessman, died Sept. 2 while picking up a piece of equipment at Great Plains Auctioneers, about 10 kilometres east of Regina. It was the first auction sale of the season, and Monvoisin was known as a regular customer.
According to RCMP at the time, the machinery was being loaded onto a trailer when it slipped from a forklift. Monvoisin, a married father of two, was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. www.canada.com
