Canadian Livestock Auctioneer Competition in Saskatoon

The bidding will be fast and furious as 23 cattle auctioneers from B.C. to Quebec go head-to-head for the national title in Saskatoon.
The auctioneers will be judged in 6 categories, clarity, chant, voice control, professionalism, enthusiasm and general impression.
Marks will range between 1 and 5 points in each category. The top and bottom scores are thrown out, with an average calculated from the remaining 4 marks. There will be 6 judges, including the 2006 champion.
The competition runs from 10am to 4pm this Friday at Saskatoon Livestock Sales . . . 10 kilometers west of the city on Highway 14.
The awards will be presented at an evening banquet. The top auctioneer will receive a championship belt buckle and goes on to the international auctioneering competition at the Calgary Stampede.
The Canadian Livestock Auctioneer Competition is being held in conjunction with the Livestock Markets Association of Canada national annual meeting and convention.
