Ritchie Bros – Prince George auction takes $13.5 million

Published May 5th, 2007

Sales of about $13.5 million were generated during the Ritchie Bros. spring auction in Prince George on Thursday — well below the record $21 million reached in June 2007 but still better than average, says regional manager George Willows.

The auction, which featured more than 1,500 lots ranging from heavy equipment to log cabins to antiques, drew an estimated 3,000 people to the auctioneers’ 60-acre site at the corner of the Old Cariboo Highway and Highway 16 East.

Highlights included the sale of a grader to a Saudi Arabian buyer via the internet for $110,000.
