Canadian spring art auctions

A Sotheby’s auction set for May 28 features a Jean-Paul Riopelle masterpiece pegged to draw between $2 million and $2.5 million and a long-lost abstract piece by Harris expected to go for between $300,000 and $500,000.
The Toronto auction, to be held in conjunction with Ritchies, includes Group of Seven and Beaver Hall pieces and is estimated to attract between $9.6 million and $13.4 million overall.
The Joyner Canadian fine art auction, hosted by Waddington’s, takes place May 29 and 30. They are expecting to pull between $5 million and $6 million.
